 | Charlotte's Fusible Thread Ref: 12301 Not many quilters & embroiderers are familiar with fusible thread. Use it for machine applique. It looks a lot like dental floss. Lay out a line of it and steam press it, the thread will shrivel. It will bond fabric to fabric in a fine line - the width of the thread. Using a zigzag stitch, it gives a wider bonding area.
How to use: Wind onto the bobbin as usual. On the top in the needle use a fine thread such as a monofil or The Bottom Line. Shorten the stitch length and use a Topstitch 100/16 needle. Loosen the upper tension until the stitch is even and try to avoid the last thread guide before the needle. To fuse use the hottest iron temperature setting suitable for the fabric being fused. Apply iron for 10 seconds. Allow fabric to cool before handling.
